Theatre play by a British playwright Alistair McDowall “X”, where a distortion of the near future is created. Gilda, Clark, Cole, Ray and Matt live and work in Pluto's space base. They are far from the Earth and the Earth is far from their lifetime as we know it. The team exploring Pluto is here temporarily for a mission similar to many others on other planets close to Earth. At the end of it, the spacecraft will come and take them all to Earth. However, the connection with the native planet is disrupted and trapped in Pluto characters are trying to calm their minds: doing their daily activities, exploring Pluto, whistling like birds, masturbating.

However, anxiety ruthlessly brakes external calm and gradually distorts space, consciousness, and relationships. Finally, not only the connection, but also the perception of the environment and time begin to break. As the ignorance and tension grows between mission team, one has to wait for salvation or death.

The action of the play takes place in space. But the playwright himself says X is not science fiction. This play is about people and relationships. Alistair McDowall creates his ultimate state of loneliness by moving his characters into space and looking for a place of closeness and love. Besides the questions of the meaning and value of our life, "X" sounds anxious about the future of our planet.
